Science, Strategy, and BLW Mentality
Katabasis —from the Greek “descent”— is an inner journey. In this protocol, each colour of the rainbow represents a level of awareness and a plane of existence. With practice, this journey becomes a direct path to a deep state of calm, where body, emotions, and mind align in a single rhythm.
This exercise begins with physical relaxation, moves into emotional release, and culminates in spiritual expansion, reaching the Empty Mind: that pure state of presence without thoughts, where only peace and vital energy remain.
Level 1: Red – Physical Relaxation
The journey begins with the body. Visualising the colour red while progressively relaxing the head, neck, jaw, shoulders, arms, chest, abdomen, and legs trains the mind to associate this colour with physical release.
👉 Psychophysiology studies show that such practice activates the parasympathetic system, reducing muscle tension and lowering heart rate.
Level 2: Orange – Emotional Relaxation
With the body relaxed, we move to orange, which symbolises emotional calm. Here we focus on positive feelings such as joy, satisfaction, and receptiveness. The aim is to consolidate an emotional balance that is both tangible and stable.
Level 3: Yellow – Mental Relaxation
Yellow represents clarity of thought. Visualising it, or linking it with serene memories, helps slow down the mental stream.
👉 Neuroscience has shown that guided visualisation reduces activity in the amygdala (the brain’s fear centre) and strengthens prefrontal areas related to attention and creativity.
Level 4: Green – Inner Peace
This level corresponds to the absence of disturbing thoughts and to the state of “here and now.” It is a mental emptiness that is not passivity, but ego control, silencing worries and opening awareness.
In BLW terms: it is the tactical descent into calm, where the warrior observes without being dragged.
Level 5: Blue – Love and Full Participation
Blue connects us with the most genuine feelings: affection, love, and full participation in the experience. The body is lived as expansion, in an emotional fluidity that nourishes the soul.
👉 Positive psychology research confirms that cultivating gratitude and love strengthens the immune system and increases resilience.
Level 6: Indigo – Deep Understanding
From blue we move to indigo, associated with personal and collective aspirations, and with the ability to perceive reality in the present beyond past or future. Here intuition awakens and we align with the rhythm of life.
Level 7: Violet – Spiritual Dimension
Finally, we reach violet, the plane of spirituality. In this state, the conscious mind calms down and the deep voice of the subconscious emerges through sensations and images. Here transpersonal experiences unfold: a higher dimension where the pulsating vitality of the personal universe is revealed.
Science + BLW = Performance Strategy
Repeating this technique systematically strengthens the association between colours, sensations, and states of awareness. Medical evidence confirms that deep visualisation training improves heart rate variability (HRV), reduces cortisol, and enhances recovery.
In BLW we interpret it this way: katabasis is a strategic inner immersion, where the warrior learns to descend with control, reorganise energy, and return renewed to the battlefield of life.
